Navotas Polytechnic College to be turned into a COVID-19 triage, isolation facility

From an isolation area to a vaccination center, the Navotas City government will again convert the Navotas Polytechnic College - this time into an isolation facility and triage area.

According to Jun Veneracion’s report on “24 Oras,” health professionals will conduct medical assessments of patients at the triage area.

Asymptomatic individuals and those with mild symptoms will be brought to an isolation facility while moderate, severe, and critical patients will be brought to hospitals.

Based on the initial plan, 25 doctors, nurses, and other personnel will man the triage area in Navotas City.

“More on virtual. They will be contacted through telemedicine platforms. Either social media, Facebook, or Viber. Para ma-decongest rin natin ang ating hospital,” Dr. Jackie Inventor, isolation manager, said.

The Department of Health is hoping that the triage areas will solve the congestion in COVID-19 wards.

“Unang-una, nag-tatayo tayo and it’s going to be functional this week, ‘yung triage for LGUs. Para hindi naguguluhan ang ating mga kababayan kung saan sila pupunta pagka sila ay may sintomas,” Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said.

“Ang nangyayari kasi ngayon because our, the public pagka nagkakasakit sila or ‘di kaya ay na-expose, nagkakaroon ng fear, nagkakaroon ng panic, dumidiretsyo agad sa ospital,” she added.
