Vico Sotto on seeking reelection in Eleksyon 2022: Definitely

Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto on Monday said he will seek reelection in next year's elections.

In a television interview, Sotto noted the gains his administration has made in the city especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Definitely," he told ANC when asked if he would seek to continue his run as Pasig mayor.

"We've made a lot of gains pero sa totoo lang limited ang nagawa namin dahil sa pandemya [but in truth our efforts have been hampered by the pandemic]," Sotto added.

Sotto said he realized when he delivered his State of the City Address recently that most of his term was spent addressing the pandemic. "Sa dalawang taong mayor ako, nine months lang yung walang pandemic," he said.

"Kumbaga we had nine months to clean things up. Grabe yung pinagdadaanan namin dito [We're really going through a lot]."

Despite this, Sotto said the Pasig government is "building momentum steadily."

Sotto, who ended the 27-year reign of the Eusebio family in Pasig City in the 2019 elections, is the son of celebrities Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes, and the nephew of Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III. --KBK, GMA News
