Manila starts drive-thru COVID-19 vaccination at Quirino Grandstand

The city government of Manila launched on Saturday a drive-thru COVID-19 vaccination site at Quirino Grandstand.

The launch was attended by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna.

Lacuna, a medical doctor, was even among those who administered the vaccines.

According to the Manila Public Information Office, those who will be accommodated at the drive-thru site need to book a slot via https://www.manilacovid19vaccine.ph/home.php.

Those who successfully booked a slot will be sent an SMS message for confirmation.

 

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairman Benhur Abalos on Saturday said the mayors in the National Capital Region have agreed to continue with the 250,000 vaccinations a day during the two-week reimposed enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) on August 6 to 20.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque announced on Friday that Metro Manila will be placed under ECQ from August 6 to 20 in a bid to slow down the transmission of the Delta coronavirus variant in the country. —KG, GMA News
