PNP reports 106 new COVID-19 cases

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday reported 106 new COVID-19 cases, driving up the total infections so far to 30,434.

Of this number, 1,144 are active, data from the PNP Health Service showed.

Meanwhile, 29,206 have recovered after 49 additional recoveries were reported Saturday.

Two new deaths on the other hand brought the death toll to 84.

The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported 8,562 new COVID-19 cases, the highest new infections recorded for a day since May 28.

These new cases brought the country’s active cases to 61,920, also the highest since May 8; and the nationwide tally to 1,580,824.

The DOH also announced that total recoveries climbed to 1,491,182 after 2,854 more patients recovered from the illness.

There were 145 new fatalities which brought the death toll to 27,722. —KG, GMA News
