Children share rooms with parents as isolation facilities already full in Malabon

Several children in Malabon City shared a room with their parents inside an isolation facility as the city's facilities were already at full capacity.

According to Ian Cruz's report on "24 Oras" on Monday, a one-year-old was isolated together with his mother who was infected with COVID-19.

So far, Malabon has 745 active cases of COVID-19.

All of its six quarantine facilities are already at full capacity.

Malabon City spokesperson Bong Padua said residents who are getting infected with the virus are now being brought to government facilities outside the city.

"Mahirap po dahil sa ngayon ang ating mga referral hospitals ay punong-puno na rin po. Kaya ang ginagawa po namin, tinitingnan po ng aming mga doktor kung paano sila pansamantala magagamot," Padua said.

(It's a difficult situation because our referral hospitals are filled. So what we and doctors are doing is figuring out how we can temporarily provide treatment.)

Meanwhile, the city government was working on converting a building at the Malabon National High School into an isolation facility. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/DVM, GMA News
