Health workers recovered from COVID-19 breach 900; cases now 2,311

The number of healthcare workers who have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) breached the 900 mark on Saturday with the addition of 61 more recoveries, raising the total to 906.

In a report released Sunday, the Department of Health (DOH) also said that a total of 2,311 health workers had contracted COVID-19.

Of this number, 1,001 were mild cases, 364 were asymptomatic, four were severe, while one was in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the death toll remained at 35 since May 11.

The five medical professions with the highest number of COVID-19 cases were nurses with 841, doctors with 671, nursing assistants with 144, medical technologists with 84, and radiologic technologists with 42.

Also included in the tally were 282 other non-medical staff.

Health workers still account for 19 percent of the total cases nationwide.

The Philippines recorded 12,513 cases with 2,635 recoveries and 824 deaths as of Sunday afternoon.  — DVM, GMA News
