WATCH: Travelling by plane in the era of COVID-19

New regulations have been put in place when travelling by plane amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Raffy Tima's report on "24 Oras," passengers and the ground staff are now separated by glass at the check-in counter at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2.

All documents and identification cards are no longer submitted to the airline staff to avoid contact.  Instead, passengers are asked to display documents on the glass divider for the staff to read.

A travel authorization from the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases is required. Other supporting documents include a medical certificate from the individual's company or barangay.

All over th airport, personnel can be seen spraying alcohol to the passengers, while some are carrying placards reminding passengers about physical distancing.

Upon arrival at the destination, passengers will be asked to fill out information sheets anew.

The official of the local government unit which processed Tima's documents could not say that this was the new normal as regulations kept changing.

"Meron kasing iba't ibang mga protocol 'yung mga LGU. 'Yung province meron, 'yung city naman meron," he said. —Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
