For Interior Secretary Eduardo Año, it is still 50/50 if the National Capital Region will be placed under modified general community quarantine after June 15.

Año told reporters on Tuesday that it is difficult to decide for Metro Manila. However, for some provinces, he said there is a possibility that they could already be placed under modified GCQ after June 15.

"Sa akin 50/50 pa rin 'yan, 50%, 50/50, there's a possibility na 'yung ibang GCQ ng Luzon, regions, provinces i-MGCQ na 'yan," Año said.

"Talagang ang Manila, ang Cebu, ang Davao, 'yan ang talagang mahirap desisyonan, kailangan talaga diyan data, kailangan makita natin 'yung presentation ng mga experts," he added.

Año said under MGCQ, almost all forms of mass transportation will resume their operations and all businesses will be opened. He also said 75% of workforce will be allowed.

"Parang kumbaga ang maiiwan na lang diyan ay 'yung mga hindi papayagang gaming, leisure, 'yun na lang 'yun... so ang daming bubuksan mo doon, so kailangan talaga diyan, careful study talaga eh," he said.

The national government has placed Metro Manila under GCQ until June 15, meaning there had been some easing on quarantine protocols in the region.

A limited number of public transport was allowed to cater to commuters and some industries were already opened to the public.

Meanwhile, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Regions I (except Pangasinan), IV-B, V, VI, VIII, IX (except Zamboanga City), X, XI (except Davao City) and XII, CARAGA, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao are under modified GCQ until next week. — RSJ, GMA News
