Audit staff at House of Representatives tests positive for COVID-19

Another employee of the House of Representatives tested positive for COVID-19, House Secretary General Jose Luis Montales confirmed Wednesday.

"We’re sorry to inform you that another employee tested positive for COVID- 19 today," Montales said in a statement relayed to reporters.

According to Montales, the said employee was assigned to the Internal Audit Department of the House of Representatives.

She last reported for work on June 24, he added.

"Protocols for handling positive cases and their close contacts are being observed," Montales said.

"Let’s remain cautious; let’s continue following our health and safety guidelines," he added.

Just last month, the House reported that two of its employees, who are spouses, also tested positive for COVID-19.

Back in March, another House employee who tested positive for COVID-19 died.

As of June 30, a total of 37,514 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the Philippines, with 1,266 deaths and 10,233 recoveries. -NB, GMA News
