DND placed under lockdown for disinfection of main building, premises

The Department of National Defense would be placed under lockdown to give way to the disinfection of its main building and premises in Quezon City.

In an advisory, the DND said the lockdown would take effect beginning 12 noon of Wednesday, July 15. This is in accordance with the prescribed biosecurity protocols amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The DND said normal office operations would resume on Friday, July 17.

This came after Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana bared that one of his staff tested positive for COVID-19.

while waiting for the result of his swab test.

Meanwhile, the DND also conducted mandatory rapid testing for its employees last July 13. The agency said a total of 294 employees underwent rapid testing, in addition to 83 tests facilitated earlier this month.
