NBI's Eric Distor checks on security of 6 witnesses in Jang Lucero slay

National Bureau of Investigation director Eric Distor is in Laguna in this photo taken on Saturday, August 1, 2020, to check on the security  situation of six witnesses in the ongoing investigation of the killing of Jang Lucero in late June, and the abduction a month later of her girlfriend Meyah Amatorio on July 29.

In his visit, Distor said that President Rodrigo Duterte wants to know the truth behind the killing, and the abduction incidents.

NBI Laguna has kept its silence on the details of the investigation, but confirmed that several pieces of evidence, believed to shed light on the motive for Lucero’s gruesome killing and and Amatorio's abduction, are already in its possession.

Lucero, who had worked as a service driver using her own car at the height of community quarantine in Laguna was found dead with 52 stab wounds

On July 29, heavily armed men, some wearing masks, seized Lucero's girlfriend Meyah , together with her nephew, from their house.

Meyah's nephew was later found dead near the spot where Lucero's body was seen a month earlier. —LBG, GMA News
