DSWD: P77.4B disbursed to families in second tranche of gov’t aid disrtibution

Nearly 13 million families have already been provided with the cash assistance from the second tranche of the government's Social Amelioration Program, the Department of Social Welfare and Development said Wednesday.

As of August 18, the total amount disbursed to 12,930,324 qualified families already reached P77.4 billion, according to the DSWD.

The agency said it continues to distribute cash aid to qualified beneficiaries across the country, including the waitlisted families.

According to the DSWD, waitlisted families are set to receive P16,000 corresponding to two tranches of the SAP while original family beneficiaries who already received their first tranche last April to May will receive their second tranche of P8,000.

The government had targeted to finish the distribution of SAP's second tranche by August 15. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA News
