Cash-out fee should not be more than P50, cash aid beneficiaries told

Beneficiaries of the government's emergency cash aid program who had deductions greater than P50 from payout centers are encouraged to coordinate with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Interviewed on Unang Balita on Friday, DSWD spokesperson Irene Dumlao said payout centers are only allowed to deduct not more than P50 as "cash-out fee" from beneficiaries.

"Kung halimbawa po ang beneficiary, ang kanilang ayuda ay nabawasan ng mahigit P50 ay ipaalam po iyan sa DSWD," Dumlao said.

"Kung mahigit sa halagang yun ang na-deduct, ang ating service provider ay ibabalik ho ang halagang humigit sa P50."

Dumlao said DSWD hotline numbers are operational and can be reached through 89318101 to 07 (loc. 555), 09474822864 (Smart) and 09162471194 (Globe) and 09329333251 (Sun).

As of August 26, around 13.5 million target beneficiaries have received the second tranche of the emergency cash subsidy from the government, according to the DSWD.

Dumlao said this translates to a total of P81.1 billion disbursement from the government. —KBK, GMA News
