OVP to roll out ‘simplified’ COVID-19 tracker

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) will launch a “simplified” COVID-19 tracker based on data released by the Department of Health, Vice President Leni Robredo said Sunday.

Robredo said the OVP’s COVID-19 Data Tracker will follow international standards set by The Lancet, a leading medical journal.

The tracker will be rolled out on Robredo’s Facebook page on Monday.

The Vice President expressed hope that the tracker will allow local governments to improve their COVID-19 response, noting The Lancet’s recommendation that at least 20 people be traced and tested for every person that tests positive for COVID-19.

“Kapag nakita nila iyong numbers ay maga-guide sila nito. Maga-guide sila kung ilan dapat iyong tina-target nila na contact tracing, ilang dapat iyong tina-target nila na testing,” she said.

The Lancet earlier ranked the Philippines 66th out of 91 countries in suppressing COVID-19.
