Interviewed on Balitanghali on Tuesday, PDRRMO information officer Espel Estropia said that the estimate included damage to roads, bridges, schools, government facilities, and water systems.

The PDRRMO also recorded P770 million worth of damage and losses to agriculture due to Rolly.

“We are expecting, although not hoping, na tataas pa po ito,” Estropia said.

Meanwhile, 54,000 families or 220,000 individuals had been evacuated due to the typhoon.

A total of 27 municipalities in Camarines Sur experienced flooding, while 35 municipalities and one city still had no power supply.

Seven other municipalities also had no water service.

Estropia called on the public for donations of basic necessities for the affected residents.

Rolly had weakened into a tropical storm and had been traversing the West Philippine Sea since Monday morning.

The typhoon caused devastation in areas along its path, including in Catanduanes where it first made landfall, and the provinces of Albay, Quezon, and Batangas. —Ma. Angelica Garcia/DVM, GMA News
