Mayor Sara Duterte visits typhoon-hit Catanduanes, meets with governor

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte on Wednesday visited Catanduanes, one of the provinces hit hard by Super Typhoon Rolly over the weekend.

Based on photos from GMA News stringer Jinky Tabor, Mayor Duterte, daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte, met with Catanduanes Governor Joseph Cua in Virac.

A report on Balitanghali by GMA News' Ian Cruz said six people were killed while one was missing in Catanduanes, where strong winds and rushing water from a nearby mountain destroyed entire houses.

Power and communication lines in Catanduanes have yet to be restored as of Wednesday.

On Monday, President Rodrigo Duterte visited Catanduanes and Albay, which was also hit hard by Rolly, to personally inspect the damage caused by the super typhoon. —KBK, GMA News
