DepEd regional directors authorized to suspend distance learning amid Ulysses

The regional directors of the Department of Education (DepEd) on Thursday were authorized to suspend distance learning activities in school divisions that were severely affected by typhoon Ulysses.

In a memorandum, Education Secretary Leonor Briones said classes may be suspended for Friday, November 12 and Saturday, November 14 to give students, teachers, and personnel time to recover.

“This is without prejudice to suspension of distance learning activities as may be determined by local chief executives in their capacity as chairperson of their respective LDRRMCs,” the memorandum read.

The regional directors were advised to submit to the Office of the Secretary a report on their implementation.
