Vice President Leni Robredo has denied claims that she was bringing members of the media on her visits to evacuation centers ees for relief operations, saying that the documentation was only done by the members of her staff as part of their job.

“Grabe traffic papunta sa evacuation sites, kaya nanananghalian na kami sa sasakyan. Sabi ng trolls, lagi daw kami may kasamang media. Hindi po totoo,” Robredo said in a Facebook post.

“Ang totoo, kami lang anim yung magkakasama sa ikot. Kagabi, lima lang kami. Kami kami din po nag pi-picture and video and kung anu-ano pa. Nagagawa ko trabaho ko ng maayos, dahil sa kanila,” Robredo added.

Robredo named five members of her staff who were with her.

On the same day that typhoon Ulysses submerged a number of Metro Manila areas and nearby provinces of Rizal and Bulacan, Robredo’s office launched relief operations in Brgy. Tumana, Marikina City and Kasiglahan Village Elementary School in Rodriguez, Rizal.

Moreover, at least 401,800 individuals have been evacuated due to the raging floods caused by typhoon Ulysses.

Earlier in the day, Robredo urged the public to report a Twitter post which accused her of having too many security personnel amid typhoon Ulysses using an old photo of hers in Agutaya, Palawan. -NB, GMA News
