20 new COVID-19 cases recorded in PNP

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday reported 20 new COVID-19 cases within the organization, bringing the total number of infections to 7,892. 

Of that number, 396 are active cases while 7,470 have already recovered from the disease, according to the PNP. 

The police force also recorded one new fatality due to COVID-19. 

The latest fatality is a 62-year-old male from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group - National Capital Region. 

The death toll climbed to 26, the PNP said.

The Philippines’ coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caseload increased to 420,614 on Monday after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,799 new infections as seven laboratories failed to submit data on time.

Total recoveries also rose to 386,604 after 135 more patients recovered from the respiratory illness.
