Party drugs not being manufactured in Philippines, Sinas says

By ANNA FELICIA BAJO,GMA News

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Debold Sinas on Monday said there is no manufacturing of party drugs in the country, adding that the recent items seized in operations came from other countries.

Galing sa US and Netherlands. As of now based on our coordination with our counterparts sa PDEA (Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency) ay wala pong manufacturing dito sa atin," Sinas said during a press conference.

Sinas assured the public that the PNP is closely coordinating with PDEA as regards the issue on illegal drugs, including party drugs. He said additional K9 dogs are deployed in airports to prevent the entry of narcotics in the country.

Naglagay na kami ng additional K9 dogs doon to assist those deployed by PDEA in the airport so it resulted to positive interceptions," Sinas said.

Recently, authorities confiscated more than 500 tablets of ecstasy worth P1 million in an air parcel that was misdeclared as “documents," which came from The Netherlands.

Some ecstasy were also seized during the drug operations in Manila and Rizal last week that resulted in the killing of one drug suspect. — RSJ, GMA News
