De Lima to Duterte: We're short on vaccines and I'm the bitch?

Senator Leila De Lima appeared to take advantage of President Rodrigo Duterte's calling her "a bitch" on Thursday to throw jabs at the administration's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and its human rights record.

On Twitter, De Lima threw shade at the shortage of COVID-19 vaccines despite the billions in loans the government took out to respond to the coronavirus and its impact on the health of Filipinos and the economy.

"Bitch? Kulang-kulang ang bakuna kahit bilyon-bilyon ang inutang, ako pa ang bitch? Sa dami ng namamatay sa COVID at EJK, ako pang pinakulong na nga nya, ang nasa utak pa rin nya?" De Lima said.

[Bitch. We don't have enough vaccines despite the billions we borrowed and I'm the bitch? Many already died because of COVID-19 and extrajudicial killings and yet I'm still the one on his mind even if already had me jailed.]

"Incompetent people will always call you names," she said, adding that it was Duterte's way of diverting the heat away from him. -NB, GMA News
