5,249 new COVID-19 cases bring Philippines' active tally to 55,847

The Philippines reported 5,249 new cases of coronavirus disease, increasing the country's total caseload to 1,364,239, the nation's health department said Monday.

In its case bulletin, the Department of Health said active virus cases reached 55,847 as eight laboratories failed to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System.

Of the active cases, 91.4% were mild, 4.1% were asymptomatic, 1.9% were severe, 1.32% were moderate, and 1.3% were in critical condition.

DOH also documented 1,284,643 total recoveries, including 7,053 new ones.

The country's COVID-19 fatality tally rose to 23,749 after the health department recorded 128 more deaths.

For the country's healthcare utilization rate, 57% intensive care units were utilized while 46% isolation beds were used.—LDF, GMA News
