PNP personnel with COVID-19 now at 32,631

The Philippine National Police on Tuesday reported 176 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) among its personnel, pushing the total tally to 32,631.

The PNP said total recoveries rose to 30,550 after 157 more policemen recovered from the respiratory illness.

The death toll, meanwhile, climbed to 96 with four new fatalities.

So far, there are 1,985 active COVID-19 cases within the police organization.

PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar urged all PNP personnel to be vaccinated and follow health protocols.

"Paulit-ulit po ang ating paalala sa lahat ng pulis na magpabakuna. Isa po ito sa ating proteksyon laban sa naturang virus. Bukod dito, pinaaalalahanan rin natin na sumunod pa rin tayo sa minimum health protocols tulad ng pagsusuot ng face mask o face shield at paghugas ng kamay," he said.

[We have constantly reminded our police to get vaccinated. This is one of our protections against the virus. We are also reminded to follow the minimum health protocols such as wearing face masks and face shields and washing our hands.]
