Laguna solon Ruth Hernandez tests positive for COVID-19

Laguna Representative Ruth Hernandez bared on Wednesday that she has been infected with the coronavirus disease.

She made the announcement on Facebook days after Laguna Governor Ramil Hernandez was diagnosed with the respiratory illness.

"Kasunod po ito ng pagpositibo ko sa COVID-19 ilang araw pagkatapos maging positibo rin si Gov. Ramil Hernandez (I tested positive days after Governor Hernandez was infected.)," she wrote.

Nevertheless, the congresswoman said she will follow required health protocols to prevent transmission of the virus.

Further, the lawmaker said she will continue to participate in congressional hearings online.

Philippines has so far 1,883,088 total COVID-19 cases including 1,725,218 recoveries and 32,492 deaths. —Consuelo Marquez/NB, GMA News
