15K more doses of Sputnik V vaccine arrive in the Philippines

Fifteen thousand doses of the Russian-made Sputnik V's Component 2 COVID-19 vaccine arrived in the country on Tuesday night.

The additional supply of vaccines, intended to be used as second dose, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 past 10 p.m.

The government has been dealing with a less than adequate supply of COVID-19 shots to vaccinate 70% of the country's population.

The Philippines started its inoculation program on March 1.

Vaccine brands delivered to the Philippines to date include Sputnik V, Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson and Johnson, Sinovac, and  AstraZeneca.

Over 13 million individuals have so far been fully vaccinated in the country.—LDF, GMA News
