Sara Duterte tests positive for COVID-19

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has tested positive for COVID-19, according to her office on Saturday.

Her office said she has mild symptoms and is currently in an isolation center with her other family members who needed medical attention.

“The family requests for complete privacy at this time and respectfully urge the public to refrain from sending tokens for well wishes,” the Davao City mayor’s office wrote in a Facebook post.

Duterte’s office also advised those who came in close contact with the mayor in the last 14 days to self-monitor for symptoms and take an RT-PCR test five to seven days “from your contact with her.”

Duterte, who rejected calls for her to run for president next year, is seeking a third term as mayor. — VBL, GMA News
