Two suspects dead, two others nabbed in separate ops, P12.2M 'shabu' seized —PNP

Two drug suspects died while two others were arrested in separate drug buy-bust operations the past two days, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.

The fatalities were a Filipino and a Malaysian, both subjects of a buy-bust operation in Tawi-Tawi on Saturday morning.

The victims were identified

as Nadzmil Ladja of Sitangkai, Tawi-Tawi, and Hari Man Bin Sabtula of Sabah, Malaysia, the PNP said.

PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar said the two suspects engaged in a shootout with a police-military team who were effecting their arrest for alleged drug trafficking. The shootout occurred along the shoreline of Barangay Pahut, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi at 9:45 a.m.

Recovered from the suspects were more or less 1,500 grams of white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P10.2 million, and 16 bundles of boodle money.

Also recovered were five grams of suspected marijuana with an estimated standard drug price of P600; two identification cards; two caliber .45 Armscor pistols; and a yellow motorized boat.

Pasay

Meanwhile, in a separate operation in Pasay City on Friday night, PNP Drug Enforcement Group operatives arrested two suspects identified as Emmanuel Bartolome, 42, and Eliza Aurelio, 35.

The buy-bust operation was conducted on the service road of Roxas Boulevard at 11:45 p.m. 

Seized from the suspects were 300 grams of a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu and with an estimated standard drug price of P2,040,000.

Also recovered were assorted identification cards and two mobile phones.

“Anti-illegal drugs operations will continue without let-up even as the PNP remains preoccupied with law enforcement and public safety duties in response to the COVID-19 health crisis, and general anti-criminality and internal security operations,” Eleazar said. —KG, GMA News
