Over 113,000 violators reported in NCR amid Alert Level 3 —PNP

A total of 113,602 quarantine violators have been reported in the National Capital Region (NCR) since the implementation of Alert Level 3 as of Wednesday, data from the Philippine National Police (PNP) showed Thursday.

In an update, the PNP said 10,932 violators were newly reported on Wednesday. A daily average of 9,467 violators was being reported from October 16 to 27, it added.

Around 57% of the violators were warned, 36% were fined, while 7% faced other sanctions.

A total of 84,819 violators or 7,068 daily have violated minimum public health standards amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

For curfew, a total of 28,171 violators or 2,348 daily were reported in Metro Manila.

A total of 612 who are not considered authorized persons outside residence (APORs) were also caught outdoors.

The NCR will be under Alert Level 3 from October 16 until 31.

Under Alert Level 3, several establishments will be allowed to operate at 30% indoor venue capacity only for fully vaccinated individuals and 50% outdoor venue capacity, provided that all employees are fully vaccinated.

Curfew in Metro Manila has been shortened to 12 midnight to 4 a.m. starting October 13.

On Wednesday, Department of the Interior and Local Governments spokesperson Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya said NCR mayors are ready to shift to Alert Level 2.

He cited the downward trend of cases within the past two weeks, ramped up vaccinations, and more police deployment. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
