19 more PNP personnel contract COVID-19, bringing total cases to 41,847

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported 19 more cases of COVID-19 among its personnel, bringing the total number of infections to 41,847 as of Monday with 479 are active cases.

In an update, the PNP said 35 police officers recovered from the disease bringing total recoveries to 41,245.

The death toll due to COVID-19 in the police organization remained at 123.

On Friday, PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar said around 89% or 199,362 of the PNP personnel were fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while over 21,000 or 10% are still waiting for their second dose.

Eleazar said that only 1% of PNP personnel had yet to be vaccinated. — DVM, GMA News
