Male health worker is Baguio City's latest COVID-19 patient

A 38-year-old male nurse is the latest case of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Baguio City, its public information office said Tuesday.

According to the Baguio City Public Information Office, the nurse, who worked at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, brought the total number of cases in the city to 35.

 

Mayor Benjamin Magalong, citing city health officer Dr. Rowena Galpo, said the infected medical worker, who was a resident of South Central Aurora Hill, received the positive test result on Tuesday morning.

The patient is now admitted at the BGHMC isolation facility.

Meanwhile, the local government said aggressive contact tracing and disinfection are still ongoing.

So far, the province has five active cases, 29 recoveries and one fatality.

Nationwide, cases of COVID-19 ballooned to  18,638, including 3,979 recoveries and 960 deaths. --Ma. Angelica Garcia/KBK, GMA News
