Soccsksargen reports 2 new COVID-19 cases, bringing total to 37

KIDAPAWAN CITY – Two more confirmed COVID-19 cases were monitored in Region 12 on Friday, data from the Department of Health Center for Health Development 12 (DOH-CHD 12) shows.

Based on DOH-12 data, the two confirmed COVID-19 cases included a 22-year-old male from South Cotabato who has travel history from Cebu City and arrived in the province on May 31; and a 37-year old female from South Cotabato who traveled to Metro Manila before returning to the province on June 10.

Both were in stable condition, whose Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests turned out to be positive.

This brings the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Soccsksargen region to 37, with one death and 18 recoveries.

Of the 37 cases, Cotabato City has 13; South Cotabato, 9; North Cotabato, 5; Sultan Kudarat, 5; General Santos City, 3; and Sarangani, 2.

Meantime, another confirmed COVID-19 case has recovered in June 12.

Based on the DOH-12 reports, the 18-year-old student (PH13929) from Cotabato City who had travel history from Davao City has fully recovered after his 14-day mandatory quarantine. Also, his second RT-PCR test result was negative of COVID-19.

This brings to 21 the number of those who recovered from the disease, reports said. —LBG, GMA News
