Celebrity doctor Joel Mendez nabbed in Cagayan de Oro for rape charges

Celebrity doctor Joel Mendez was nabbed for rape and attempted rape charges, police said Tuesday.

The 60-year-old cosmetic surgeon was arrested at around 2 p.m. on Sunday inside a mall in Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City.

Mendez, the owner of Skinology Spa & Wellness Center and a resident of Quezon City, was arrested by personnel of the Regional Special Operations Unit 10 by virtue of a warrant of arrest for two counts of rape through sexual assault and attempted rape.

The warrant was issued by Judge Joanne Hernandez-Lazo of the Mandaluyong Regional Trial Court Branch 5-FC last February 4.

No bail was recommended.

Mendez was first arrested for the similar charges in July 2018 in Mandaluyong.
