North Cotabato residents get 2nd wave of COVID-19 relief

Residents of 12 barangays in the municipality of Pigcawayan, North Cotabato received the second wave of coronavirus assistance from the Bangsamoro Government, its Bureau of Public Information said Thursday.

The 5,330 families who received aid were from the barangays of Balacayon, Buricain, Datu Binasing, Datu Mantil, Kadingilan, Libungan Toreta, Matilac, Patot, Simsiman, Lower Baguer, Lower Pangangkalan, and Upper Pangangkalan.

The Ministry of Interior and Local Government oversaw the distribution of relief goods.

The Bangsamoro Government said it will distribute aid to five more municipalities in North Cotabato.

Meanwhile, residents affected by flooding in Maguindanao and other affected areas in the Bangsamoro region will likewise receive help from the government.

Bangsamoro has recorded 824 COVID-19 cases with 28 deaths and 565 recoveries as of Wednesday. —Julia Mari Ornedo/LDF, GMA News
