Couple defies Quinta, wades in flood to wed in Negros

Not even the onslaught of Typhoon Quinta can stop a couple in Negros Oriental from exchanging "I dos."

According to Oscar Oida’s report on “24 Oras” on Monday, Ronil and Jeziel Guillepa braved the flood just to push through with their wedding on Friday in Barangay Luyang in Mabinay.

“‘Di po mapipigilan ang pagmamahalan naming dalawa. Tagal ko ‘tong pinaghandaan ‘tong pagkakataong pakasalan siya. Kahit anong bagyo pa ang darating o ano pang pagsubok, kayang lampasan,” Ronil said.

Ronil said he was scared at first because he thought Jeziel would not go through with the wedding ceremony due to the flood.

“Kinakabahan po ako kasi para kasi ‘yong tubig, pinilit na lang tumawid,” he said.

But for Jeziel, her love for Ronil is bigger than the flood.

“Naisip ko na mas importante pala talaga na ipagpatuloy ‘yong kasal kasi mahal ko siya,” she said.

The couple said their unforgettable wedding experience will be their reminder that they can do anything together no matter what the circumstances may be.
