Pregnant woman, 8 others test positive for COVID-19 in Rizal evacuation center

A pregnant women together with eight other individuals tested positive for COVID-19 in an evacuation center in Rodriguez, Rizal, according to a "Saksi" report.

They were brought to a quarantine facility to be isolated from the rest of the evacuees who were displaced by the flooding from the recent typhoon Ulysses.

The pregnant woman’s companions in the room where she was staying were found negative after the antigen test.

The center is providing temporary shelter to over 8,000 flood survivors.

Meanwhile, the Department of Labor and Employment and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration distributed the compensation to over 1,000 volunteers under the government’s cash-for-work program. Food carts were also provided to help residents start their livelihood anew.—LDF, GMA News
