Masked, shielded tourists flock to Tagaytay for long weekend

Despite the rain and thick fog, tourists flocked to Tagaytay City on Sunday to celebrate the long weekend.

According to Jamie Santos’ “24 Oras Weekend” report, bumper to bumper traffic greeted tourists in Silang, Cavite.

Traffic eased in Tagaytay City, but there was still a heavy volume of cars still along the roads.

Several families and groups of friends were seen enjoying the cool weather in the city.

“Ngayon, sobrang lamig. Masarap sa pakiramdam kasi bibihira na rin makalabas ang mga bata so, ayon, sinulit na rin namin ‘yung long weekend,” one tourist carrying a baby said.

Most of the tourists were wearing face masks and shields, but the Department of Health earlier warned that those may not be enough protection against COVID-19 in crowded areas. — Julia Mari Ornedo/DVM, GMA News
