Police seize P2.72M worth of shabu from tricycle driver in Pampanga

A tricycle driver allegedly involved in illegal drugs was arrested during a buy bust operation in Mabalacat City, Pampanga on Tuesday afternoon.

The Philippine National Police on Wednesday identified the drug suspect as Arnel "Bay" Gonzales, 30. Police said Gonzales was included in the drug watchlist.

Law-enforcement authorities launched an operation against him at about 3:30 p.m. along McArthur Highway in Barangay Tabun.

Police said the suspect was supposedly linked to drug activities being conducted in Mabalacat and Angeles City.

Seized from the suspect were nine heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu worth P2.72 million, five pieces of P1000 used as marked money, a digital weighing scale, and a red Toyota Corolla.

Gonzales is placed under custody of the Mabalacat City Police Station. He will be charged for allegedly violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2020. —LBG, GMA News
