P13M worth of shabu hidden inside grill pan seized, drug suspect arrested in Bulacan

Authorities confiscated P13.2 million worth of crystal methamphetamine or shabu hidden inside a grill pan during a controlled delivery operation in Bulacan.

According to John Consulta’s report on “24 Oras” Saturday, the 2-kg shabu hidden in a red steamboat grill pan came from Malaysia and was first discovered by authorities at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) then conducted an operation to arrest the supposed recipient of the illegal drugs.

During the operation, PDEA-National Capital Region agents arrested suspect Jason Dayulot who received the delivery. Dayulot did not give any statement.

Authorities said because of the pandemic and the limitations it had brought on mobility and delivery, suspects were now utilizing international courier services to send illegal drugs.

According to PDEA, they are in contact with their international counterparts to arrest the source of the illegal drugs coming into the country. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
