Bataan to be placed under ECQ starting Aug. 8

Bataan will be placed under the strictest enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) classification starting Sunday, August 8, Malacañang announced Saturday.

In a statement, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque Jr. said President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the recommendation of the IATF to place Bataan under ECQ until Sunday, August 22. 

The province was initially placed under a modified ECQ until August 15.

Governor Abet Garcia previously announced

As of August 6, Bataan has recorded 14, 643 confirmed cases. Of this, 1,974 are active, 12,135 have recovered, and 534 have died.

Meanwhile, the Philippines has logged a total of 1,649,341 cases, of which 1,544,443 have recovered and 28,835 have died. -MDM, GMA News
