Worldwide coronavirus cases reach 24.84 million, death toll at 837,623

More than 24.84 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 837,623 have died, according to a Reuters tally.
   
Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

The US still leads with the most number of confirmed COVID-19 cases at 5,932,923 and 181,866 deaths.

It is followed by the following countries:

  • Brazil: 3,804,803 cases and 119,504 deaths

  • India: 3,463,972 cases and 62,550 deaths
  • Russia: 980,405 cases and 16,914 deaths
  • Peru: 629,961 cases and 28,471 deaths


The Philippines is 22nd on the list with 213,131 cases and 3,419 deaths. Reuters
