Worldwide coronavirus cases reach 25.38 million, death toll at 847,287

More than 25.38 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 847,287 have died, according to a Reuters tally.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

The top five countries in terms of number of coronavirus cases are as follows:

• US: 6,009,917 cases and 183,141 deaths
• Brazil: 3,862,311 cases and 120,828 deaths

• India: 3,621,245 cases and 64,469 deaths
• Russia: 995,319 cases and 17,176 deaths
• Peru: 647,166 cases and 28,788 deaths

The Philippines has 220,819 confirmed cases and 3,558 deaths, according to the Department of Health on Monday. —Reuters/KG, GMA News
