Worldwide coronavirus cases cross 60.68 million, death toll at 1,427,401

More than 60.68 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 1,427,401 have died, according to a Reuters tally.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

The top five countries with the most number of cases are:

1. United States - 262,139 deaths out of 12,771,689 cases

2. India - 135,223 deaths out of 9,266,705 cases
3. Brazil- 170,769 deaths out of 6,166,606 cases
4. Russia - 38,062 deaths out of 2,187,990 case
5. France - 50,957 deaths out of 2,183,660 cases

In the Philippines, the cases have reached 424,297 on Thursday while the total recoveries rose to 387,266 and the death toll also climbed to 8,242. -Reuters with GMA News
