Worldwide coronavirus cases cross 118.82 million, death toll at 2,760,596 —Reuters tally

More than 118.82 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 2,760,596 have died, according to a Reuters tally.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

The US leads with 29,320,697 cases and 531,275 deaths.

It was followed by:

• India: 11,308,846 cases and 158,306 deaths
• Brazil: 11,277,717 cases and  272,889 deaths

• United Kingdom: 4,248,286 cases and 125,343 deaths

The Philippines reported a total of 616,611 cases as of Saturday, with 12,766 deaths. —Reuters
