25 more Pinoys abroad tested positive for COVID-19 — DFA

The Department of Foreign Affairs on Monday reported 25 additional cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) among Filipinos overseas, bringing the total number of infections to 5,566.

The DFA also said total recoveries reached 2,497 after six more Filipinos recovered from the illness, while the death toll climbed to 426 with 17 new deaths.

The Middle East/Africa recorded the most number of COVID-19 positive Filipinos at 2,446 with 1,388 recoveries and 169 fatalities.

Europe followed with 881 cases including 301 recoveries and 92 deaths.

Meanwhile, the Americas reported 679 Filipinos infected with the viral disease, 353 of whom have recovered while 163 have died.

The Asia Pacific Region has 560 Filipino COVID-19 cases with 45 recoveries and two fatalities. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/RSJ, GMA News
