DFA: 43 more Filipinos abroad test positive for COVID-19

Forty-three more Filipinos abroad have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total to 8,915, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The DFA also announced that total recoveries rose to 5,311 with 34 new cases while the death toll remained at 618.


At present, there are 2,986 patients undergoing treatment.

Data from the DFA showed a total of 722 cases are in the Asia and the Pacific region. Of the number, there are 128 patients still undergoing treatment while 589 have recovered and five have died.

In the Middle East or Africa, total cases were recorded at at 6,431. There are 2,240 patients undergoing treatment, 3,842 recoveries, and 349 fatalities.

Europe reported a total of 1,063 COVID-19 cases. Among these, 498 patients are still undergoing treatment while 470 have recovered and 95 have succumbed to the illness.

Meanwhile, total cases remained at 699 in the Americas. There are 120 patients undergoing treatment in the region while recoveries were recorded at 410 and fatalities at 169.—AOL, GMA News
