135 more Pinoys overseas infected with COVID-19 — DFA

The Department of Foreign Affairs on Monday recorded 135 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) among Filipinos abroad, bringing the total tally to 9,136.

The DFA also said total recoveries reached 5,360 after 39 more Filipinos recovered from the respiratory illness, while the death toll rose to 644 with 10 new fatalities.

To date, the Middle East/Africa remained to be the region with the most number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad at 6,605 with 374 deaths and 3,850 recoveries.

Europe still followed with 1,074 infections, including 496 recoveries and 95 fatalities.

In the Americas, a total of 698 Filipinos were infected with the virus. Of the number, 169 have died, while 410 have recovered.

The Asia Pacific Region, meanwhile, has recorded 759 cases with six fatalities and 604 recoveries. — RSJ, GMA News
