DFA: 13 more Filipinos abroad test positive for COVID-19

Thirteen more Filipinos abroad tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total tally to 10,181, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The DFA also announced that total recoveries rose to 6,431 with 10 new cases while the death toll remained at 768.

“Compared to last week’s percentages, the total number of Filipinos who have recovered from COVID-19 increased slightly to 63.17 percent of the total confirmed cases,” the DFA said.

Meanwhile, there are still 2,982 patients undergoing treatment.

“[T]hose who are under treatment saw a decrease to 29.29 percent. Meanwhile, the percentage of fatalities among COVID-19-affected Filipinos abroad slightly rose to 7.54 percent,” it said.

Data from the DFA showed a total of 1,205 cases in the Asia and the Pacific region with 309 patients undergoing treatment, 888 recoveries, and eight fatalities.

In the Middle East or Africa, there are a total of 7,002 cases with 2,310 patients undergoing treatment. The region has reported 4,205 recoveries and 487 deaths.

Europe, meanwhile, has reported a total of 1,169 cases. Among this, 195 are patients undergoing treatment, 879 have recovered, and 95 have succumbed to the illness.

Meanwhile, A total of 805 cases have been recorded in the Americas with 168 patients undergoing treatment. The number of recoveries in the region was at 459 while the death toll was recorded at 178. — DVM, GMA News
