DFA: Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 now at 10,386

The number of Filipinos abroad who tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rose to 10,386 on Saturday with one new infection, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

One more Filipino national also recovered from the illness, bringing the total to 6,594, while the death toll remained at 777.

At present, there are 3,015 patients still undergoing treatment.

“Compared to last week’s percentages, the total number of Filipinos who have recovered from COVID-19 increased slightly to 63.49 percent of the total confirmed cases,” the DFA said.

“[Meanwhile], the percentages of deaths and those under treatment decreased to 29.03 percent and 7.48 percent, respectively,” it added.

Based on data from the DFA, there are a total of 1,354 cases in the Asia and the Pacific region. Among this, 328 are patients undergoing treatment, 1,018 have recovered, and eight have succumbed to the illness.

In the Middle East or Africa, there are 7,052 cases with 2,326 patients undergoing treatment. The region has reported a total of 4,230 recoveries and 496 fatalities.

A total of 1,173 cases were, meanwhile, recorded in Europe. Among this, 195 are patients undergoing treatment while 883 have recovered and 95 have died.

Meanwhile, the Americas reported a total of 807 cases with 166 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 463 patients in the region have recovered while 178 have succumbed to the disease. — DVM, GMA News
