2 more Filipinos overseas contract COVID-19 —DFA

The Department of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday reported two new cases of COVID-19 among Filipinos overseas, bringing the total tally to 18,571.

The DFA said the death toll rose to 1,162 with one new fatality, while total recoveries remained at 11,366.

So far, there are 6,043 patients undergoing treatment for the disease.

The Middle East/Africa still recorded the highest number of COVID-19-positive Filipinos at 10,465, including 5,913 recoveries and 758 fatalities.

The Asia Pacific Region still followed with 3,734 cases including 2,510 recoveries and 31 deaths.

In Europe, a total of 3,389 cases have been recorded, 130 of which have died and 2,318 have recovered.

In the Americas, 983 Filipinos have been infected with the respiratory illness. A total of 625 people have recovered, while 243 have died.—AOL, GMA News
