DFA reports 2 new COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad

The Department of Foreign Affairs on Thursday reported two new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) among Filipinos overseas, bringing the total tally to 19,774.

Latest data from the DFA showed that total recoveries also climbed to 12,044 after six more patients recovered from the viral disease.

The death toll, meanwhile, remained at 1,194.

So far, there are 6,536 patients undergoing treatment.

The Middle East/Africa remained to be the region with the most number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad at 11,249 with 789 deaths and 6,288 recoveries.

The Asia Pacific Region followed with 4,019 infections including 33 fatalities and 2,667 recoveries.

In Europe, a total of 3,522 Filipinos were infected with the virus, of which 130 have died, while 2,462 have recovered.

The Americas, meanwhile, has recorded 984 cases with 242 fatalities and 627 recoveries. -MDM, GMA News
